Sancho has been on sparkling form and has surprised German football since his £8million move from Manchester City back in 2017, and has bagged in 26 goals in 78 games since joining Dortmund across all competitions.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with Sancho for some time and European champions Liverpool have also lined up a bid for the 19-year-old forward.
The Red Devils were rumoured to be at the front line to get his signature after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer identified Sancho as his number one attacking target during the January transfer window.
However, Frank Lampard’s Chelsea are ‘close’ to wrapping up a huge £120m deal for Sancho which would well smash the club’s transfer record, according to The Sun.
United have reportedly cooled their interest in Sancho due to Dortmund’s huge release clause they slapped on the teenager.
Dortmund are reluctant to let Sancho leave midway through the season as they attempt to end their frustrating eight-year wait for the Bundesliga title – but Chelsea’s board look to tempt them as they plan to hit the bank to get their man.
Chelsea could finalise an agreement for Jadon this winter before sending the wonderkid on loan back to Dortmund for the remainder of the season just as they did to lure and for an agreement for Christian Pulisic.
The American star as registered himself as a key member of Lampard’s first-team since joining, stacking up five goals and two assists in the league this term.
The pair(Pulisic and Sancho) formed good relationship on and off the pitch and Chelsea will look to reunite them both.
