The Raped; A Poem By Paula Amankwaah Edusei

 THE RAPED!!

"Help! Help! Help me!"

"Someone please save me!"

"Don't touch me"!

"Get your filthy hands off me'

She exclaimed.

As he tore her dress,he tore her dream

Her pride was floating

In a shameful stream

Lost in confusion

She couldn't overcome the oppression

What annoyed her most was his moaning

As tears rained down her eyes

She couldn't stop mourning

She felt the hot ice

Of blood running down her thighs

Suddenly, her voice died

Ooops! She has lost her virginity

Her self-esteem, her dignity

She now let go of the sofa

Which for long she had gripped

And looked for her panties which had been ripped.

She gasped for air

Finally, the dog had let go of her

Out of shock, she felt numb

From her feet to her thumb

She couldn't cry

Her throat was dry

How did a simple 'errand girl' ruin her life?

Her future had been shredded with a knife

Who would listen to her?

Who would understand her?

Because now,

She has been RAPED!

    2. It is a very good poem. It is not only national but international because rape happens in the whole world. It serves as a piece of morale lesson which teaches the society to desist from rape because its wound can never be cured. Thank you very much. We need more.
