WE ARE HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED IN OUR MPS

The decision by the National Deocratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament (MPs) to approve the nomination of several New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ministers in President Nana Akufo-Addo's "oversized" government could have negative implications for our great party NDC.

Firstly, the approval of the Ministers is a clear sign of betrayal of the NDC's stance on the size of the government. We the NDC had previously criticized the President for appointing too many ministers and had called for a more streamlined government. By approving the nominations, our MPs have contradicted their own position, which could erode their credibility among the foot soldiers

Secondly, the decision to approve the Ministers could hurt our chances in the next election. We have traditionally relied on the support of voters who are dissatisfied with the current government. By approving the nominations, we could be seen as collaborating with the ruling party and losing support from these voters who invested their trust and hope in us as a party.

Again, the approval of the Ministers could be used by the NPP to paint the us as inconsistent and lacking in leadership. The NPP could argue that our MPs had initially resisted the approval of their ministers but later caved in, which could be seen as a sign of weakness and indecisiveness of the NDC.

Finally, the decision to approve the NPP Ministers could also affect our ability to hold the government accountable. By approving the nominations, our MPs may have inadvertently given the government a pass on some of their policies and actions, which could make it more difficult for the NDC to hold the government accountable in the future.
