STMA Foundation Launches Major Youth Employment and Agricultural Empowerment Programme in Kpone Katamanso

 Accra, Ghana — April 20, 2026



The has unveiled a major expansion of its youth empowerment agenda through a combined skills training and agricultural development initiative aimed at addressing youth unemployment and promoting sustainable livelihoods within the constituency.

The programme forms part of the ongoing youth employment and skills development project, which seeks to equip young people with practical, industry-relevant competencies while also creating long-term economic opportunities.


Forklift Training Programme Fully Subscribed

The Foundation has confirmed that its upcoming forklift training programme has reached full capacity, with 50 applicants successfully enrolled.

To ensure effective training delivery, participants will be organized into batches of ten (10). Management stated that this structure will allow for proper supervision, hands-on instruction, and safety compliance throughout the programme.

All applicants have been assured that they will be given the opportunity to participate in due course and are encouraged to remain patient as scheduling is finalized.

Prior to the commencement of training, an orientation session will be held to brief participants on safety procedures, operational guidelines, and programme expectations. All selected trainees will be officially informed of the date, time, and venue.

Safety Requirements for Participants

All trainees are required to report with:

  • Safety boots
  • Working gear
  • Protective helmet

The Foundation further confirmed that all costs associated with the training will be fully covered, describing the initiative as a fully sponsored youth empowerment programme powered by the Solomon Teye Mensah Addo Foundation (STMA).


Youth in Agriculture Initiative Introduced

In addition to the technical training programme, the Foundation has also launched a Youth in Agriculture initiative aimed at promoting agribusiness development and food production among young people.

As part of this initiative, the Foundation has established large-scale agricultural plantations serving as production and training hubs, currently focused on:

  • Pepper cultivation
  • Tomato farming
  • Okra production

According to the Foundation, these farms are designed not only for production but also to provide hands-on agricultural training and practical experience for participating youth.

The Foundation further indicated that additional crops and agricultural projects will be introduced progressively as the initiative expands.


Commitment to Youth Empowerment

The STMA Foundation reiterated its commitment to tackling youth unemployment through a dual approach of technical skills development and agricultural investment. The organization emphasized that both programmes are designed to promote self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and long-term economic growth among young people in the constituency.
